More beer sales

A third business in town has requested a “new retail beer off premises” permit from the Arkansas Alcohol Beverage Control Board.

Rustin L. Matney applied for the permit for Dollar General, Slack Street. Matney lists his address as Gravette.

Copies of the permit request were sent to Mayor Jackie Crabtree, members of the City Council, Police Chief Tim Ledbetter, Sheriff Kelley Cradduck and prosecuting attorney Van Stone.

Pea Ridge Nazarene Church is immediately east of the Dollar General, but state guidelines do not place distance regulations from churches or schools on the sale of beer and wine as it does retail liquor stores, Police Chief Tim Ledbetter said.

Both EZ Mart and White Oak Station sell beer and wine.
