Art students honored

The Gilcrease Museum of American Art in Tulsa, Okla., will host a reception honoring Pea Ridge elementary-aged artists in a special ceremony at 2 p.m.

June 23.

Currently 52 Pea Ridge artists have their art hanging in a special Pea Ridge schools exhibit which opened in mid-May with the event to close soon after the reception. Curator Deborah Burke will address the students with parents and supporters invited to view the art on display. This marks the sixth time that Pea Ridge elementary students have had an exhibit at the internationally renown museum.

Cars will caravan to thereception with the trip being organized by art teacher John McGee who can be contacted at 479-381-7412 or at littlehawkart@live.com.

The students whose art is currently included in the exhibition include:

Kindergarten: Emily Garcia, Lleytn Coberly, Kailynda Hackler, Ava Clark, Seth Wilkerson and Shylo Whitmore;

First grade: Troy Ferguson, Luke Baker, Seth Foster and Jayce Foster;

Second grade: Croix Lecause, Cooper David, Caleb Johnson, Owen Reynolds, Kaden King, Broke Jedlicka, Destiny DeSantiago and JadynSpivey;

Third grade: Gabby Fletcher, Braidon McCarley, Vanessa Ollivier, Joe Adams, Lauren Wright, Bayleigh Cloud and Caleb Neil;

Fourth grade: Rebecca Trammel, Jackson Revelle, Jacob Hupp, Elizabeth Spencer, Heather Cato and Alevia Reyna;

Fifth grade: Avery Escajada, Abby Ryals, Jamison Toms, Mazon Harris, Adam Trammel, Phillip Brown, Lorena Razuri, Breanna Wiltgen, Keera Todd, McKenzie McTier, Lance Nunley, Jaden Olguin, Stephanie Harris and Kaila DeShields.
