Library Notes: Book sale was successful

Wasn’t it a wonderful long weekend for all the activities that took place? It was good to see so much activity in downtown Pea Ridge.

We locked the door to the library and went out and sat on the curb to watch the parade - such fun! Congratulations to all the contestants in all the contests.

Our book sale went well - had hoped to sell more books so we wouldn’t have to pack them up and move them. We made a decent amount of money for the library, saw lots of old friends and made many new friends. Thank you to everyone who came by.

And a special thank you to Julie Austin and The Ridge Church for not only loaning tables but for delivering them and setting them up.

We so appreciate it.

How do you like the looks of the new library now that the brick and the new shingles are on? I think it looks wonderful and am so proud that the library has such a nice facility to call home.

Several people at the book sale inquired as to when we would be opening the new library - I was happy to let them know we are there now and loving it.

The Wednesday Summer Story Hour continues to be a success thanks to Miss Beth! Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings continue to be our busiest times. I am very thankful for good volunteers.

In August, Miss Beth will be returning to college for her senior year which means Story Hour will come to an end unless someone volunteers. If you are interested in reading to the children in the fall, call me at 451-8442 or come by the library. Anyone who works/ volunteers at the library must pass a background check.

This past week we received a large donation of books - lots of good children and teen books. It seems each time I purchase children’s books the price has gone up so donations are much appreciated.

“Second Honeymoon” by James Patterson and a new release by James Rollins have been added to our collection. If you want your name added to the waiting list please call the library.

Or better yet, come visit the library and take a look at what we have to offer.

See you at the library!
