Crabtree named president

Mayor Jackie Crabtree was installed as president of the Arkansas Municipal League at the annual meeting last week.

“It’s quite an honor,” Crabtree said. “You’re elected by your peers.”

Crabtree said it will not mean he’s gone from town more, but that he will have conference calls and e-mail conferences.

“I shouldn’t have to miss too many meetings.”

“It’s an opportunity to represent Pea Ridge,” he said. “I’m always making sure people know where I’m from.”

“There are a lot of people who worked hard to get us where we are today,” the mayor said.

“It gets the name of Pea Ridge out there.”

Crabtree said he wants to improve the relationships between mayors and state and federal legislators.

“We want to build a good working relationship. It’s mutual respect,” he said.

The term is one year.
