Beer is for sale at EZ Mart.
Just hours after John Desadier, zone manager for EZ Mart, presented his state permit to sell beer to Pea Ridge city officials and the Police Department, a truck from AB Distributors pulled into the parking lot of EZ Mart on the southwestcorner of South Curtis Avenue and Slack Street. Two men began unloading cases of beer.
People pulled in to the parking lot and took pictures with their phones.
“The regional manager showed up with his permit asking if there was anything else he needed from the city,” Police Chief Tim Ledbetter said.
The permit, No. 04730, is forretail beer off premises; small farm winery, retail, to John H.
Desadier, EZ Mart No. 411, 137 S. Curtis Ave.
The sale of alcohol in Benton County was approved by voters this past fall.
Alcohol was previously available at a restaurant in town that had a private club license, but has not been for sale at a retail business.
