Hall named to Arvest all-tourney team

— Blackhawk senior Jacob Hall was one of 11 high school athletes from Arkansas and Missouri named to the All Tournament Team for their performances in the 2012 Arvest Hoopfest basketball tournament.

The 11 players were chosen for the top honor following the three-day Hoopfest tournament held Dec. 6-8, 2012, at Rogers Heritage High School.

The players named to the All Tournament Team, in addition to Hall, include: Kohl Slaughter of Webb City High School; Juwan Nero of Hot Springs High School; Hunter Hill of Rogers High School; Clayton Pankey of Fort Smith Southside High School;

Chandler Myers and Shane Williams of Mount Vernon High School; Don Hargrow and Juwan Morgan of Waynesville High School; and Hayden Greenway and Xavier Thomas of Rogers Heritage High School.

Phoenix Johnson of Webb City High School was chosen as the tournament’s most valuable player.

Webb City won the tournament this year, ending a four-year winning streak by the defending champion Rogers High School.

Eight teams played in the tournament: Rogers High School;

Rogers Heritage High School; Pea Ridge High School; Fort Smith Southside High School and Hot Springs High School in Arkansas;

and Mount Vernon High School, Webb City High School and Waynesville High School in Missouri.

This is the fifth year that teams from outside Arkansas played in the tournament, which began in 2005.
