Medical clinic is open

A new doctor’s office is in town.

Dr. Rhonda Higgins, determined to continue a personal touch in medicine, has opened a clinic at 145 N. Curtis Ave., just north of the four-way stop.

Higgins has practiced medicine in Pea Ridge for several years, formerly practicing with a larger medical organization.

“I built the clinic to better care for my patients,” Higgins said.

“I’m committed to this area and this facility, which is very obvious from my top-notch staff. I trulycare for the people of Pea Ridge.”

Pea Ridge Medical Clinic is the new home for health to northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri including professional staff, laboratory and therapeutic infrared sauna. Laura Pedraza is the receptionist and Tabitha Deal is the nurse. Pedraza speaksSpanish, a boon for some of the patients.

Concerns about health care and the government’s mandates about insurance abound, said Shane Haingaertner, publicist for Pea Ridge Medical Clinic.

The relationship between doctor and patient must, however, remain, as the coming trend of assembly line medicine marches ahead.

“A doctor who bucks this trend by adding care to the health, is a rare find indeed,” Haingaertner said, adding: “Such a gemis among us here in Pea Ridge.”

“She has stood by our side,” Haingaertner said.

“From holding our hand while speaking the truth, to dispensing her vast knowledge in putting us back on the road to health, she has shown what compassion in modern medicine can mean.”

Dr. Haingaertner, withWell Again Clinic, Bentonville, practices alternative medicine. He said he and Higgins practiced together several years ago and he will be assisting in the clinic in Pea Ridge.

Higgins was recently requested to serve on the Arkansas State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Higgins is a mother of four children.
