’Hawks take 2nd in tourney

Hall, Pitts named to All-Tourney

The Blackhawks took second place in the Holiday Tournament in Washburn, Mo., this past week, loosing the last game to the Billings, Mo., Wildcats. “The tournament went pretty well,” Blackhawk coach Charley Clark said. “We were not disappointed.

We use this tournament to get ready for conference play.” Two Blackhawks — Jacob Hall and Levi Pitts — were named to the All-Tournament team, Clark said.

On Wednesday, the Blackhawks beat the Cassville, Mo., Wildcats with a last-minute shot at the buzzer by Evan Tillman in a 49/47 game.

On Thursday, the Blackhawks beat Hollister, Mo., Tigers 78/63. And on Friday, in the championship game, the Blackhawks lost to the Billings, Mo., Wildcats 57/64. “The Cassville game was close; we played pretty well against Hollister.

We didn’t play bad, but we didn’t play great either. It was a pretty average game. Then, we played against a very good Billings team. It gave us a chance to improve,” Clark said. The Blackhawks begin conference play Friday, Jan. 4, hosting Berryville.
