Who is your god?

Colossians 1:15-16 “He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the fi rstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.

All things were created through Him and for Him.”

“For by Him all things were created…” The phrase “God hates…” has become the pinnacle of satanic evil in our world, and this being brought about by the idea that God did not create a perfect world but that the world evolved through mutations and death (death of all life that didn’t adapt to the changing world). This has given rise to the concept that if there is a God who started this evolving process then He didn’t care about the death and mayhem He started. Therefore God must hate us.

There is another theory that has sprung from the concept of an evolving world; “If the world has evolved then there is no God!” And the greatest incentive to accept this concept is this: “If there is no God, there is no sin!” Mankind has developed an appetite for evil, which if we acknowledge there is evil, then there is by conclusion, sin. But if there is no God, then there is no evil, and therefore there is no sin. And if there is no sin, then “I can do what I want! There is no judgment for my actions.” From this conclusion we can confidently state that murder should not receive judgment.

“Wait!” you may respond. “Everyone knows that murder is wrong!” But who decides that murder is wrong? Some would declare that a culture decides what is wrong and what is right. If a culture concludes that any action is not wrong then that action may take place. In America’s present culture we have decided that unborn children may be murdered. At any point, if enough of the voting public agrees, America can decide that old people are a burden to society and should be euthanized.

Doctors could be paid to kill old relatives who are a burden, creating a new government-paid industry.

And there are many who are promoting this idea today.

If, however, there is a God, then God created man perfectly, without the need of death. If there is a God then the Word of God tells us His truth and His desire for us. And if there is a God and God’s Word is His word to us, then the Ten Commandments are true and beneficial to us.

One of those Ten Commandments states clearly that “You shall not murder.”

So if there is a God, the number one fact is that sin has infected mankind.

Sin is disobeying the One who created us to be perfect, and the result was that mankind became imperfect, needing either judgment or salvation.

But mankind could not provide his own salvation so the Creator came as Savior, to die in the place of man, taking man’s judgment, and then beating death to provide man salvation (for those who accept it). That is a true demonstration of God’s love for all mankind. The Creator-Savior died for every man, woman, and child who has ever lived and who will live in the future. That’s love. To say that God hates some group is to out and out lie.

This is where we stand in America. We believe God has no place in government, that a woman may choose to kill her unborn child, that people answer to the government not that the government answers to the people, and that we do not need to call on God in repentance for forgiveness, but that we can call on the government to save us. We believe we don’t need a Savior because the government will be our savior. And since the government is our savior the government decides if I may do something or not.

Thus God has no place in government; after all, the government is our god.
