Tobin Plaza tabled

A large scale development presented to the Planning Commission was tabled and sent back to planners for a tech review at the regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 3.

“Some of us had a great deal of concern about things discussed at the tech meeting. There’s no change. It did not get addressed,” planner M.J. Hensley told Evan Niehues.

Niehues, a landscape architect with Bates and Associates, represented Pat Tobin, developer.

Niehues said he added trees and shrubs to the top of the berms to alleviate concerns of adjacent landowners.

“You presented a dozen apples (the first time) and have brought us a dozen oranges,” Jerry Burton, planner, said.

“This is a whole new plan,” Dr.

Karen Sherman, planner, said.

All planners agreed that the plan had changed signifi cantly enough that another tech reviewwas in order.

“Are you the one drawing the plans? Are you authorized to address changes?” Tony Townsend, city building o◊cial, asked Niehues.

“Yes,” Niehues said.

“At the former meeting, you alleged you did not draw the plans,” Hensley said.

“I’ve recently gone through them,” Niehues said.

The tech review will be Thursday, Dec. 12. Resubmission deadline for corrected plans is Dec.

23 in order for the plans to be considered at the Jan. 7 Planning Commission meeting, Townsend said.

In other business, planners approved a home occupation request for 3045 Hayden Road for Dr. Susan Rough, who said she moved there in August and runs a scientific assessment business.

She said there are no customers that come to the residence.
