Open House Dec. 18

I am not the biggest fan of the social media sites but they have been very helpful during this round of winter weather. You can get up to the minute information on school closings, road conditions/closures, accidents. We have been fortunate not to have lost power. I consider myself especially fortunate as my neighbor plowed my driveway on Saturday. Guess I will be baking cookies for his family!

I took a fall on the ice on Thursday afternoon as I crossed the road to get our mail. It happened so quickly I didn’t have time to try and catch myself which is probably a good thing. My first thought was to see if anyone might have witnessed this embarrassing incident and luckily for me no one was! The only thing hurt was my dignity!

Needless to say I will be much more careful in the future.

Several weeks ago someone told me they had cut open several persimmons and each contained “spoons.” I have always been told “spoons” in persimmons meant snow and I guess this proves it.

Weather permitting, the library Christmas Open House will be from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. Stop by for a sweet treat and some hot cider. We are very excited to be having our first Christmas in our new home. Hard to believe we have been there eight months now.

Thanks to the Street Department guys for putting up the Christmas lights outside the library. I appreciate those guys who do somuch for the library. I also appreciate their e◊orts to keep the streets clear of ice and snow.

Time to fill the birdfeeders and get the newspaper - will try to stay on my feet this time!

See you at the library!
