Library Notes: Library book sale was a success

— What a great day Saturday turned out to be! The library book sale at the swap meet was a success.

We heard a lot of good comments about the mule jump from attendees who stopped by to peruse the books for sale. When I was putting up signs for the book sale at 7 a.m. on Saturday I saw many volunteers hard at work at the Mule Jump. It is so gratifying to see all the area citizens volunteer their services - not only for the Mule Jump but for so many good causes in the community. You all deserve a pat on the back for giving so much. Makes me proud to be a part of this community.

The book sale went well and we sold a large number of books. A big thanks to the Camps for the use of their auction barn and for the food. Thank you doesnot seem adequate for all your support.

I also want to express my appreciation to the people who helped with the book sale - Corey Flowers for moving the books to the Camps, Sam Finney, Sandy, Adie and Spencer Hedlund for taking the unsold books back to the library, Billie Hickman and Kristi and Sarah Towe for helping on Saturday, and Cinda Wooldridge for her help on Friday and Saturday. I really enjoyed visiting with all the buyers and thank them all for their purchases and support of the library.

Last Thursday night I was privileged to be ableto show the members of the Pea Ridge Lions Club around the new building.

My favorite thing is to talk about the wonderful new building we will be moving into soon. I hope I was able to answer all their questions and didn’t bore them. The club wants to help out with a project, etc. and we will be pleased with any help they are able to provide. If your club or organization wants to help or donate something to the new library, give me a call.

Depending on the stage of construction work at the time of your call, I might be able show you around. I think you will be surprised and pleased at the transformation.

The library is in possession of three older Bibles with the names Forman, Hawkins and Huffman written in them. I wouldlike to get these back to a family member. If you think you may know the family, contact me at 451-8442.

The library will be open from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, for the kids who will be out trick or treating. It is always a treat to see the kids in their costumes.

Diane Small will be substituting for me on Thursday, Oct. 18, while I spend time with my son Christopher and my grandson Jacob.
