Library Notes: Library staying busy this fall

— It is beginning to look like fall with the trees starting to change colors. Some year I am going to head to Maine, New Hampshire and Ver- mont or maybe the Great Smokey Mountain area to see the fall colors.

Next weekend, members of the Cannonball 4-H Club will help get books ready for the book sale set for Saturday, Oct. 13. The li- brary officials are happy to have their assistance.

Each week I think things will begin to slow down here in the library and that issonotthecase. Weare seeing more children and teens; that is a very good thing. Our adult readers are keeping us busy find-ing books they enjoy read- ing. The orders that were placed a couple of weeks ago are arriving and most will be on the shelves be- foreweek’send. Wehavea waiting list for some of the titles, so give us a call to get your name on the list for some of these good reads.

Between the donations and the books on order, we are slowly but surely com- pleting sets by Christian fiction writer such as Ann Gabhart, Tracie Peterson, Beverly Lewis, Shelly Shepard Gray and other popular authors.

If you have children or grandchildren and would like to have them join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. for Story Hour, bring them by. We still have space available. This is free and the kids seem to enjoy it. They have story time and then craft time.

There are some really in- teresting Halloween books available in the children’s room. We also have some books on Halloween deco- rations, etc. Trick or Treat at the library will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Be sure to tell your friends and neighbors about us and tell them to check out our Facebook page. If you want to see the latest news on what is hap- pening in the area, check out the Facebook page for The Times. The newspa- per staff is doing a great job posting current infor- mation including severe weather alerts.

See you at the library! •••
