I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I certainly had a lot to be thankful for this holiday. I was able to spend time with all my children and grandchildren and enjoyed a lot of great food. We gathered at my oldest son’s home and everyone brought a dish or two - yummy! I discovered that deep fried turkey is very good. Do you think that three potato dishes, stuffing, hot rolls, two pies, a chocolate mousse cake and a pumpkin torte just might contain too many carbs? Is there time between now and Christmasto lose the weight I gained?
I had an e-mail when I returned telling me that a book order had shipped - hope it arrives before you read this column. Books in this shipment are: “Notorious Nineteen” by Janet Evanovich; “Merry Christmas, Alex Cross” by James Patterson; “The Buzzard Table” by Margaret Maron;
“Heart of Ice” by Gregg Olsen; “Iced” by Karen Marie Moning; “The Old Gray Wolf” by James D. Doss;
and “Poseidon’s Arrow: A Dirk Pitt Adventure” by Clive Cussler. Be sure to let me know if you want on the waiting list for any of these.
When I left last week the guys were very close to getting the heat and air finished in the new building.
Soon they will be ready to start hanging drywall! Still quite a bit to do after that, but we are getting closer to moving day!
Don’t forget to stop by the library and pick up a form to complete if you want aspecial child in your life to receive a letter from Santa.
The forms need to be completed and returned to the library by Dec. 5.
