A Pea Ridge man, Ralph Bolain, was elected to his second term as Benton County judge.

A number of Pea Ridge residents went to the Community Storm Shelter after lightning set off the tornado alert siren.

An Avoca resident, Harry Buttram, reported the shooting of a 3-month-old registered Charlois calf.

The calf was believed to have been shot while it was in a pasture, about a mile from the highway.

The Sugar Creek 4-H Club held a hayride and wiener roast in a wooded area owned by John Miser.

Games were then played and ghost stories were told on the ride home.

Members of the Beta Alpha Chapter, ESA, attending the pledge service included Mrs. Knox, Mrs.

Baggett, Mrs. Roe, Mrs.

Wells, Mrs. Weaver and Mrs. Garland.

Mike Wille was given the oath of office as a new alderman for Avoca by Mayor Donna Singleton. Wille succeeded Merill Latham, who resigned to spend the winter in Florida.

Dr. Daryle Greene, a Pea Ridge native and graduate of the University of Arkansas, was among members of a delegation from Arkansas and Nebraska which took a private trade mission to the Soviet Union to promote the sale of soybean meal.

A fire leveled a barn filled with hay, tools and equipment on the Ruth Taylor farm two miles south of Garfield.

Construction of the Pea Ridge sewer system’s extension and treatment plant were nearing the halfway point.

Staff Sgt. ShermanFletcher, son of Mose and Mattie Fletcher, Pea Ridge, arrived for duty in Friedberg, West Germany.

20 Years Ago Thursday, Nov. 19, 1992 The TIMES of Northeast Benton County

A Pea Ridge area woman, Nancy Goebel, who was defeated in the race for the Pea Ridge School Board, expressed interest in being appointed to replace board member Randy Bryant, who successfully ran for the State House of Representatives.

The Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts would go house to house in the area collecting donated canned goods for the Pea Ridge Area Ministerial Alliance.

Army Pvt. Jeremy S.

McAllister, son of Sharon D. McAllister of Pea Ridge, arrived for duty at Fort Steward in Hinesville, Ga.

The Pea Ridge FFA enjoyed a night of fun at Pea Ridge City Park. Approximately 85 students, parents and teachers participated in a chili social followed by a hayride.

Jimmy Chen, the new owner of the Buss Stop convenience store in Garfield, re-opened the business.

A special round-trip train ride included 22 Pea Ridgers, bringing back long-agomemories for some and new experiences for others. The ride was from Springdale to Rogers and back again.
