Library to help Santa with letter sending

— If you follow us on Facebook you have probably seen our posting regarding the library helping Santa out this year. In case you missed it, here’s what’s happening.

Since Santa and the elves are so busy, the library has been asked for assistance in sending personalized letters to the kids in our community.

For a donation of $5 per child, a personalized letter will be sent to each child.

Letters will be mailed from Noel, Mo., in time to arrive before Christmas. A letter from Santa Information Form will need to be completed for each child. These forms can be picked up atthe library. Information needed, in addition to the recipient’s name, address and age, are hobbies/sports, best friends/siblings names and important events/ awards they have participated in or won. Forms may be picked up at the library and need to be returned by Dec. 5. For more information, stop by the library or call 451-8442 during regular library hours.

The library received another large donationof books this past week. I haven’t had an opportunity to sort through them yet, but am hopeful there will be many we can add to our shelves. Thank you to the donor.

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is here already. This is probably my favorite holiday. I love spending Thanksgiving with my family. We celebrate several family birthdays, we eat too much and I get to see all my grandchildren. It is amazing to me that we continue to have almost the same menu that we have had since 1976! We have added new dishes along the way but we always want most ofthe old favorites. Whatever is on your menu, wherever you go, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

And, I hope we all pause and give thanks for all that we have.

Happy Thanksgiving!

See you at the library.
