Service is his specialty

— Opening a new business may be a scary venture, but it’s not new for Richie Winn, owner of Northwest Arkansas Truck Accessories at 129 Ellis Lane. Winn says his service is the one of the best things he has to offer.

Winn formerly owned Pick ’Em Truck on Slack Street from 2001 to 2006, but sold that business and property. He then worked full-time for another company, but really wanted to open his own business again. He workedat Bekhaert before coming back to Pea Ridge to run his own business.

The business will be open 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and offers after-market truck accessories, including running boards, hitches, truck steps, trailer repair, welding, fabrication, lift kits and lowering kits. Winn said anything a customer wants that he does not have can be ordered and possibly be in the next day.

“We install,” he said, adding that the service is a main feature. “We can repair trailers, do any fabrication work ....”

“I’ve been around trucks and auto mechanics all my life,” Winn said, explaining that he worked with the man who began one of the first truck accessory stores in California.

“It’s pretty self explanatory, any product we sell, we’ll install. ... service is more of an issue.

The company is a dealer for B&W hitches, and a lot of after market .. any brand, wholesale distributors.. orders within the next day.”

Winn said he is originally from New Mexico but has been here since 1990.

He said he attended college in Arizona and New Mexico where he played baseball and majored in business administration.

His father has owned Dickie’s Automotive north of town since 1990.

“I love to customize a vehicle,” Winn said, admitting the customizing is not a necessity, but that there are many people who enjoy it.
