COMMUNITY EVENTS: Fundraiser for Dye set

— A “Two Dog Night” fundraiser for Mrs. Marlene Dye is scheduled from 3-5:30 p.m. May 17, at Garfield Elementary School.

A brown bag dinner including two hot dogs, chips, cookie and drink is $5.

All proceeds go to help cover medical expenses.

Benton County Cleanup

Benton County Cleanup will be from 8 a.m. - noon Saturday, May 19, at three county road departments:

◊1206 S.W. 14th Street (Ark. Hwy. 102), Bentonville

◊1700 S. Wimpy Jones Road, Garfield

◊200 Spavinaw Ave., Decatur

Household hazardous waste will be accepted, as well as bulky household items and recycling. Document shredding will be available at the Bentonvillelocation only.

There is a limit of four tires per family. Must have a valid I.D. and be a county resident. No household trash, yard waste, construction items, mirrors or items containing glass will be accepted. For information, call 271-1083.

Bathrooms closed at night

Bathrooms at Pea Ridge City Park will be locked at 10 p.m. and unlocked at 8 a.m., according to David Farr, a member of the Pea Ridge Parks Commission.
