Winn, Kalberloh lead Hawks

— Dayton Winn and Lloyd Kalberloh sparked the ’Hawks with fourth place finishes in individual events to lead the ’Hawks to a seventh place team finish at the 1-4A District Track and Field Championships last week.

Gentry, coached by former Pea Ridge all-state track athlete Daniel Ramsey, ran away with the meet by scoring 197 points, 58 more than runner-up Shiloh. Shiloh was second with 129 followed by Gravette 103, Prairie Grove 82, Farmington 57, Ozark 44, Pea Ridge 31 and Berryville 21.

Winn was the team’s high point athlete, scoring 8.5 points with a fourth place finish in the triple jump (37-5), a seventh place in the 200 (24.21) and a leg on the fourthplace 4x100 relay team (46.20).

Kalberloh scored 5 points as did Dalton Morgan. Kalberloh got his with a fourth place in the long jump (19-7) while Morgan recorded his with a fifth place finish in the shot put (39-0) and an eighth place in the high jump (5-4).

Justin Rouse was the other individual scorer with a fifth place finish in the 400 (56.5) and he also ran a leg on the fourth place 4x100 team.

Other members of the 4x100 were Daniel Beard and Logan Rose.

The 4x800 relay team of Chase Henry, Chance Huett, Justin Stamps and Nathan Merritt took sixth place with a time of 10:13.2 while the 4x400 team of Rouse, Huett, Sainsbury and Vargas finished seventh in 4:05.1.

The meet concluded the 2012 track and field season.
