— Geneva Ruth McGinnis

Geneva Ruth McGinnis, 83, of Bentonville died Sunday, April 29, at BradfordHouse Care Center. She was born Sept. 30, 1928, at Seligman, Mo., to Kirtsy Still and PansyRuth Fine Still.

She married Edward McGinnis Sept. 7, 1947. She moved from Pea Ridge to Bentonville in 1959 to make her home. She worked for Munsingwear Hosiery in Rogers for 11 years and St.

Mary’s Hospital as a bookkeeper for 31 years. She enjoyed traveling, camping, crafts, sewing and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bentonville where she was a Sunday School teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 2005;

a son, Larry McGinnis; a brother, Glenn Still; and a granddaughter, Merry Noel McGinnis.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy McGinnis, and wife, Gaila, of Garfield; a brother, Larry Still, and wife, Jill, of Seligman, Mo.;

two sisters, Mary Michael of Siloam Springs and Lois England and husband, Bud, of Exeter, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Church of the Nazarene in Bentonville with pastor Mark Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Roy A. Roe, Jr. (Curly) died April 17, at Acosta Rua Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla. He was born May 1, 1945, in Gassville, Ark., to Roy A.

and Wanda Finley Roe.

His grandparents were Dr. and Mrs. C.E.

Roe of Viola andMr. and Mrs. W.M. Finley of Norfork.

He graduated from Yellville Summit High School where he was a letterman on the Class B State Championship basketball team and editor of the yearbook.

He attended UCA where he was a member of Phi Lambda Chi. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BS in biology and joined the Russellville Collegiate Sky Divers and continued skydiving and training skydivers the rest of his life in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.

He enlisted in the Army, graduated from OCS and served his country in Vietnam as a 1st Lt. supervising a mobile advisory team.

He was airborne-qualified in the Army Jumpmaster School. He received the Bronze Star for Valor.

He did graduate work at the U of A, earning a master of science degree in entomology. His doctoral work was done at the University of Florida.

He taught in the Gentry and Bentonville school systems and later became a professional sky diver and master rigger and examiner. He was credited with several lives saved due to his rigging techniques. He was most proud of never losing a student. He was featured on “Wild World of Sports” and was a licensed private pilot.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal, and husband Derek Craig of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Conner Craig, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; his mother, Wanda Roe of Pea Ridge; a sister, Ramona of Little Rock; and a host of cousins and friends.

A celebration of his life was held on Sunday, April 22 on the beach in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

Memorials may be made to an area hospice or favorite charity.

Jessie Jay Weaver

Jessie Jay Weaver, 69, of Tulsa, Okla., died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Short, Okla., to Lee Monroe Weaver and Lucy Jane (Alverson) Weaver.

He was an avid sportsman and played basketball for the Pea Ridge Blackhawks.

He graduated high school in Pea Ridge, Ark., and married Carol Sue Foster. They were married for 40 years. Of that union two children were born: a daughter, Becky, and a son, Michael.

Weaver worked at Daisy BB before enlisting in the Army. After leaving northwest Arkansas, he worked as a computer analyst for Rockwell, Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems before his retirement in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lucy Weaver; a brother, Virgil Weaver; and sister-in-law, Helen Weaver; three sisters, 3-month-old Mary Weaver, Minnie Newman and Verbie Messick.

Survivors include Brenda S. Weaver and daughter, Ashley Lee of the home; his two children, with Carol Sue Foster Weaver: Becky and Michael, and Michael’s two boys, Christopher and Caleb Weaver, all of Tulsa; his two brothers, Bill and Clara Weaver and Vernon and Harriet Weaver, both of Rogers, Ark.; his sister, Jewel Partain of Westville, Okla.; and many, many nephews and nieces, as well as his lifelong friend, Jimmy Beaver.

Visitation was 1 to 7 p.m.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Add’Vantage Funeral Service, 9761 E. 31st St., Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Add’Vantage Funeral Service.

Interment will be at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 75 North at the 126th Street exit.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gary Kelley’s Add’Vantage Funeral Service.
