BENTON COUNTY — The Pea Ridge School District authorized the Ridge Rockers to use Pea Ridge Middle School cafeteria, Weston Street, as the regular 2012 dance location. Many thanks to the school officials and also to Nancy Townsend for being our “key” person who lets us in and organizes the set-up and take-down before and after dances.
The Pea Ridge Ridge Rockers Square Dance Club’s regular square dance schedule for March and April 2012 is: Friday, March 9; Friday, March 23; and Friday, April 27. The regular dance for April 13 has been cancelled as a large number of people from this area will be attending a square dance festival near Tulsa.
Interested persons are welcome to visit the lessons or the dance free of charge andcheck out the club. Square dance “plus” lessons begin soon. If interested, call Grant Roth at 531-2043.
“Mainstream” lessons begin in September.
On Jan. 27, we had an anniversary dance that was well attended, 11l squares danced the night away. Ruth Baker made a beautiful “boot” cake.
Potluck dinner was enjoyed by all.
The annual Valentine dancewas held Feb. 14. Valentine colors were abundant, the dancing was rousing and all shared a great potluck dinner.
The regular dance time is 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Middle School cafeteria.
