PEA RIDGE — The Dragons, the high school boys summer basketball team, program began two years ago to keep the players active during the summer, said Kevin Hall.
“We play in MAYB (Mid-America Youth Basketball) tournamnents and play 20-25 games each summer,” Hall said. “We are what iscalled a town team. Only boys who play for Pea Ridge senior boys are on the team.”
The teams play all star teams from other regions or other large city areas.
“It is a great way for our young men to play very talented teams and improve thier own skills,” Hall said.
“I’m very proud of the group who participated inthe June 16-17 tournament in Fayetteville.”
The Dragons finished this tournament with a record of four wins and one loss and placed third. This is the best record since starting the program, Hall said.
“These young men are working hard this summer and it is really starting to show,” Hall said.
