Cheerleaders go to camp

— The junior and senior high cheer squads attended camp at Bentonville High School June 4-6. The camp was run by B2 Cheer and Dance of Hot Springs. The squads worked very hard for three days learning dances, cheers and new stunts to wow the crowd during the upcoming school year. Awards were handed out daily for the camp motto which was “Attitude is Everything.”

Winners of the attitude awards in junior high were: Rebecca Woods, Marlana Coupland and Haley Beauchamp. Senior high attitude winners were: Israel Rios, Brittney Thomas and Haley Roughton. After final individual competitions, the junior high winners were: Motions - Krystle Parmenter; stunts - the group of Marlana Coupland, HaleyHiggins, Rebecca Woods, Nicole Henson and Shelby Morgan.

Senior High award winners were: Motions - Chattin Cato; Stunt Group- the group of Brittney Thomas, Reaganne Rhine, Chattin Cato, Bradrick Brown and Madison Rose.

Squad members could also try out for Dream Team. If selected the students have the opportunity to cheer at the Independence Bowl.

The Dream Team members selected from Pea Ridgeare: Junior High - Marlana Coupland, Nicole Henson and Rebecca Woods;

Senior High - Brittney Thomas, Kelly Green, Ty Conner and Skye Craig.

Special thank you to Patty Curtis for letting senior high cheer use her pool for team bonding time. Also, to Kim Beauchamp for junior high pool time and for the food that she brought to camp daily at lunch!

The Pea Ridge cheerleaders are selling raffle tickets for a 50-inch plasma flat screen TV. The drawing will occur at Pride Night. See any junior or senior high cheerleader to purchase tickets.
