— The Dr. Lee O. Greene Memorial Dedication was held. Hundreds of people, most of whom were former Pea Ridgers, gathered together at the school cafeteria to honor the memory of the well-loved Pea Ridge doctor.

Joseph W. Ellington, livestock inspector with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, U.S.

Agriculture at Pea Ridge, received a certificate after successful completion of the A.N.H. Technical School.

The Pea Ridge E.H. Club met with Mrs. Marvin Roller and Mrs. Robert Walker as hostesses. The club voted to make ditty bags for the Red Cross to send to boys in Vietnam at Christmas.

An accident injuring 29 adults and children occurred at the main house of Realife Ranch in Little Flock. The accident occurred when a 30-foot section of the long deck across the back of the main house at the ranch collapsed with about 60 people on it.

An Oakhurst, Okla., youth led authorities and Gateway area residents on a merry chase after he fled from the scene of an accident where he allegedly sideswiped a pickup truck.

Memorial Day observances were highlighted in Pea Ridge country by the placing of flags at the graves of veterans in area cemeteries by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pea Ridge Assembly of God Church contributed $37 to the Pea Ridge Park Commission toward thepurchase of picnic tables for the park pavilion.

McDonald County, Mo., officials cut a ribbon officially opening the new Jacket Bridge across Sugar Creek. The bridge, which cost $350,000, replaced a 70-year-old single lane wooden bridge that officials say had been an impediment to progress in the vicinity.

Country Cabinets, primarily a manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom cabinets, announced it would be moving into a new building in Garfield.

Amy Whitted received the D.A.R. CitizenshipAward at Pea Ridge Elementary School. Principal’s awards were given to Rachel Schults, $100 savings bond; Erica McIntyre, $50 savings bond; and Kim Robbins, $50 savings bond.

An addition to the existing Memorial Wall at Whitney Mountain Chapel was dedicated with a service conducted by the Rev. Joe Phillippe. The chapel was built by the Phillippes in honor and memory of their families: Edna E. and David L. Jones, and Oney B. and Rev. William M. Phillippe, Sr.

Bill Anderson, pastor of the Pea Ridge Assembly ofGod Church 25 years ago, returned with his family to celebrate the church’s 25th anniversary.

The Pea Ridge Junior High Girls Track team placed third in the district track meet. The Junior High boys placed sixth at district.
