Manhunt results in arrest

— A manhunt on Patton Road around 8 p.m. Saturday resulted in the arrest of a Bentonville man who was wanted on a felony warrant.

A Benton County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the suspect in a traffic stop and was preparing to handcuff him, when the man, Earnest Butcher, turned and ran.

Pea Ridge Police, more Benton County deputies and canine units were dispatched to the area of Patton and Roland David roads northeast of Pea Ridge.

A relative of the man lives in the area and law enforcement officers went to that residence to search for him.

Ernest Lee Butcher, 23, Bentonville, was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail.

By Monday, additional charges had been added including possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, second offense.

He was in the Benton County Jail Monday in lieu of $25,000 in bonds for:

  • failure to appear, felony - BCSO
  • failure to appear, misdemeanor - Bentonville
  • fleeing, misdemeanor - BCSO
  • parole violation, felony - BCSO
  • resisting arrest, misdemeanor - BCSO
  • failure to appear, misdemeanor - Bentonville
  • failure to appear, misdemeanor - Rogers
  • possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, second offense, felony - BCSO.
