CLUB NEWS: New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club

— Members of New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club met for their regular monthly meeting at Autumn Place Assisted Living in Pea Ridge on June 13.

The meeting was brought to order by president Karen Launderville. Devotions of a touching “Boy takes Walk” was given by Roxie Geddie.

Coffee and cinnamon rolls were served by Peggy at Autumn Place.

Eula Anderson was presented a certificate for 50 years membership in the New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club.

Members discussed the upcoming plans for the club’s Christmas project and County Fair.

Plans for the August meeting are being made and members will be advised by Roxie Geddie. The meeting ended with all reciting the Extension Homemaker’s Creed.

New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club

The members of New Meadowbrook Home Extension Club met for their regular monthly meeting at10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the First Baptist Church in Garfield.

President Karen Launderville brought the meeting to order with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Jean Landauer gave the devotions at the meeting. She first told of the origins of some of the songs that are sung around the Fourth of July. “My Country ’Tis of Thee,” and “Star Spangled Banner” were written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key and “America the Beautiful” was written on Pikes Peak in Colorado. She also read an interesting life story of the athlete, Bryan Clay, who will be in the 2012 Olympics, and ended with a passage from Revelations.

Discussion of upcoming events, minutes and treasury reports were given, and roll call was answered with “Where did you go on your favorite vacation?”

A picnic will be held in August at Roxie Geddie’s home with members, husbands and friends invited.

The meeting ended with all reciting the Extension Homemaker’s Creed.
