CLUB NEWS: Granny’s Quilts of Love

— Granny’s Quilts of Love met at 9:30 a.m. June 17 at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. There were16 members present and Judy Fortner’s granddaughters, Jessica Fortner, Lilly Fortner and Emma Fortner were guests, along with Sarah Doyle.

Since this was a working meeting, we had a short business meeting finalizing preparations for dinner and an auction to be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, atthe high school cafeteria.

Judy advised 10 - 12 teenagers from her church will help again this year.

The work meeting went smoothly with all the ladies busy sewing the quilts.

Donna Beaver gave all the ladies an apron from Southwest Dairy Farmers that her husband, J.C., arranged to get for us. Thank you, J.C., for thinking of us.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church. This will be thefinal meeting before the big dinner and auction. Everyone plan to attend.
