Theft solved

— Within less than a week after a burglary was reported, a neighbor of the victim was arrested and some of the stolen items were recovered, according to Pea Ridge police.

On Monday, July 2, police arrested Truman Alexander Andrews, 20, Pea Ridge, andcharged him with felony residential burglary, resisting arrest, felony theft of property and misdemeanor theft by receiving.

Andrews, initially contacted during a traffic stop, agreed to a search of his vehicle, in which some of the items reported stolen were found.

Andrews was taken to the Benton County Jail, where he was still incarcerated Tuesday morning in lieu of a $15,000 bond. The bond amount was recommended by the prosecuting attorney, police said.

Andrews was arrested in connection with a burglary reported Thursday, June 28, by a resident of the Garden Apartments on East Pickens Street.

The resident reported watches and a coin purse full of foreign coins missing.

Both Andrews and the victim are listed as residents of the Garden apartments on East Pickens Road.
