SHILOH MUSEUM HAPPENINGS: Dating historic photos

— Shiloh Museum photo archivist Marie Demeroukas will present “The Dating Game: Ways to Determine the Age of Your Family Photos,” at noon Wednesday, July 18, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Using historic images from the Shiloh Museum collection, Demeroukas will share ways to make an educated guess about the age of a photo based on knowing who’s in the picture, determining how the photo was made, and examining clothing styles, hairstyles and other visual clues.

Summer Saturday family program: All Wet!

Families and kids of all ages are invited to the Shiloh Museum’s Summer Saturday program, “All Wet!,” from 10 a.m. - noon Saturday, July 21.

Participants will have the opportunity to get wet in a globe sprinkler, spin a water wheel for prizes, make a fish from a recycled cd, become a scientist and test water quality, and play water-themed games. “AllWet!” is sponsored by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Illinois River Watershed Partnership, Beaver Watershed Alliance, Audubon Arkansas, Arkansas State Parks, Washington County Dept.

of Environmental Affairs, Beaver Water District, and Northwest Arkansas Stormwater Education.

The event is free; registration is not required.
