LIBRARY NOTES: New books on shelves soon at library

— As I write this on Sunday afternoon I realize that another month has passed in a blur. How fortunate we have been this year not to have had any really miserable weather. But now that the fruit trees and flowers are budding I hope that we don’t get cold, snow and ice.

A good portion of this weekend has been spent trying to decide which books to order. I have been reading through book catalogs all weekend. I think you will be excited to learn that C.J. Box has another Joe Pickett novel coming out on March 20. “Force of Nature” is getting rave reviews.

John Sandford’s latest - “Stolen Prey” - will be on sale May 14. April 10 is the first day to purchase Lisa Scottoline’s newest book, “Come Home.” James Patterson and David Elis have a new thriller out - “Guilty Wives.” John Grisham’s “Calico Joe” follows the divergent paths of a rookie hitter for the Chicago Cubs and a hard-hitting Mets pitcher.

Should be in the library in mid-April.

Several historical romance, Christian fiction and romance books are on order and should be in the first full week in March.

The library has purchased several paperback westerns and several have been donated. Books for young adults are being purchased.

Thanks to the hardworking volunteers, we have made a vast improvement in the children’s section.

Some of the donated children’s books are being processed and put on the shelves.

A number of non-fiction books have been donated and most are available for checkout. Anything dealing with war seems to be of interest to both children and adults.

Work is continuing on the new building. I stopped by last week and was amazed at how large the space is with all the walls down. I think everyone is anxious for us to get moved. We appreciate all the donations - books, money, time, etc. Every donation helps get us closer to a move-in date.

With nice weather coming many of you will be spending more time outside doing yard work or gardening but don’t forget to stop by and pick up some books just in case it rains or worse - snows!

Many of you have been inquiring about Linda Whitaker’s mother, Betty Sanders. At last report she has been moved to rehab and is improving. We miss her and wish her the very best.
