Shooting sends woman to hospital

— An accidental shooting Tuesday morning sent a woman to the hospital, according to police.

At 5:04 a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to a residence on Lynn Drive where they found a 59-year-old woman who saidshe had been accidentally shot by her husband in the derrière. The weapon was a .38-caliber revolver.

The woman said she was asleep when she was awakened by the sound of a gunshot and the realization that she had been shot.

She was transported to Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, by Pea Ridge Ambulance. She was treated, then released before noon.

Police said the 64-yearold man was intoxicated and said he had a problemwith sleep walking. He told police he regularly sleeps with a loaded handgun.

Information was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office, police said.

All weapons in the house were taken into safe keeping by police.
