Santa to read at library Dec. 12

The guys from the Pea Ridge City Street Department were out last week clearing the leaves off the streets. We thank them for the great job.

Thanks to Carrie and her children for shelving books and straightening up the children’s room. I really appreciate your help.

For those of you who receive water bills from the City of Pea Ridge, I hope you noticed the information about the library on your bill. We are hoping to get our information out to people who may not know about the library. Thanks you, Kim Thornhill.

We have been receiving book donations the past couple of weeks and have a good number of Christian fiction and children’s book for sale. When we receive donations, each book is checked with our inventory. If we don’t have the title and it is suitable for use, it is listed in our files, a card is typed, the book is stamped and placed on the shelf. Those that we can’t use are placed for sale or put in the free book box.

While we are happy to have books donated, we do ask that you make sure the books are not badly stained or that they are not moldy.

Mold spreads quickly on books and obviously we don’t want that happening in the library.

The library has been able to generate some much needed funds from donated books, magazines, CDs, etc. These funds have been put to good use in remodeling the new facility.

And speaking of the building, work is really moving along. In the next couple of weeks the guys should be able to begin hanging dry wall. I don’t have the words to express how grateful the members of the Library Board and I are for all the help we have received - be it money, time or donated items.

Thank you and I can’t wait until we are moved in and can have an open house so you can the new library for yourselves.

If you have not turned in the Santa letter form, please do so this week.

Forms are available at the library.

Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule to visit the Pea Ridge Library to read to the kids at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12. Space is limited so plan to arrive a little early.

The books I wrote about in last week’s column have been processed and are on the shelves. Come by and check one out - only one new release per card at a time. If there is a title that you would like to read, give me the information and I will see what I can do about getting it for the library.

See you at the library!
