Library Notes: Story hour to continue

— Earlier today I was thinking about school starting next week and I started reminiscing about first day of school for my boys. I remember walking them to the bus stop in the morning and meeting them at the bus stop in the afternoon for the first month or so or until they asked me not to. The first day of school always brought tears as did their high school graduation ceremony. And now I have a grandson entering third grade and another who will be in kindergarten.

So parents and grandparents take lots of pictures and give them lots of hugs as they start school this year.

Wednesday and Thursday mornings have been lots of fun over the summer with the Story Hour. This week we will have a final Thursday morning story hour.

Tentative plans are to have a story hour each Wednesday beginning after Labor Day.

Our reader has been out of town so I don’t know for sure that she will be able to read on Wednesdays. Check out our Facebook page or call the library for more information. Sure hope this works out so I can continue to get my hugs from the kids. Just one of the perks of my job.

I want to thank Hannah Mangrum for volunteering as our story reader on Wednesdays. It was a pleasure having her in the library. Perhaps she will volunteer again next summer.

dresses now and, in most cases, we don’t have that information. We will need this when we move to an automated system.

Last week someone came into the library, found the book they were looking for and when they brought it to me for check-out said that they had been to the Rogers and Bentonville libraries and had not been able to find a copy. Then said I knew I would find it here. Sure makes up happy to hear that!

Come on by the library - you might just find what you are looking for.
