Teens steal debit card

— A shopping spree on a stolen debit card has netted two young men with theft by receiving charges and police are still investigating and expect more charges to be filed.

A resident of Charles Street reported he parked the bus (a Rogers school bus) he drives on the street, went inside his house for lunch, and returned to find a bag and his wallet missing. He told police that later in the day, abank employee called him to report suspicious activity on his bank account.

Bank records showed charges at EZ Mart and the Tobacco Station in Pea Ridge, then at Lids, Journeys and Hollister at Promenade Mall in Rogers.

Video surveillance footage from stores showed the user of the card and a vehicle he was driving.

While looking for that young man, police found a 15-year-old male wearing some of the items whichhad been purchased. After questioning, that young man was taken to the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspect vehicle was found about 9:30 p.m. and the occupant and driver were questioned. Austin Gibson and Jesse Howard, both 18, were both cited for theft by receiving.

Items purchased in Rogers were turned over to Rogers police. Further charges are expected, police said.
