Man hunted in Gateway

— Joshua Lee Oglesby, 38, was in the Benton County Jail Tuesday oncontempt and felony parole violation charges.

Benton County Sheriff’s deputies andmembers of the Crime Suppression Unit, as well as the canine unit, converged on the tiny town of Gateway seeking a man who reportedly fled from the Seligman, Mo., police chief, according to BCSO Capt. Hunter Petray.

“He was supposed to turn himself in,” Petray said of Oglesby, who was said to have driven to Barnett Bait and Pawn next door to Gateway Town Hall. Petray said he then fled across thefield and towards the railroad tracks around noon Monday. Deputies searched for him for several hours.

Oglesby, of Garfield, was apprehended Monday afternoon and booked into the jail at 4:30 p.m.
