School seeks to fill seat

— Pea Ridge School Board members plan to fill the remainder of an unexpired term at a special meeting Tuesday, April 24. The seat was officially vacated when Rick Webb turned in a letter of resignation April 11, five and a half weeks after walking out of a special executive session and not returning.

To fill the remaining time of the term, which expires in September, the Pea Ridge Board of Directors will hold a special board meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the High School Media Center.

Board member and former president of the board Rick Webb walked out of an executive session March 3. He did not attendany more School Board meetings, special or regular. He declined to comment except to say his reasons were “personal.”

The purposes of the special meeting is to act on Webb’s resignation by considering appointing a replacement for the unexpired term and act on field trip requests.

A portion of the meeting may be in executive session. Any person appointed to the unexpired board position will be up for election Sept. 15, 2012.

School Board members serve five-year terms.

Anyone interested in serving the unexpired term may contact district administrative assistant Danielle Rose at the Pea Ridge Administrative Building, 781 W. Pickens Road, Pea Ridge, to complete an Indication-of-Interest form.
