COMMUNITY EVENTS: Pea Ridge Annual Spring Cleanup

— The City of Pea Ridge annual Spring Cleanup is set for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tuesday, April 10, through Friday, April 13, and 7 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14. Dumpsters will be located at the city property behind Village Hardware.

The city will not provide curbside pick-up. All participants need to bring a form of identification and proof of city residency.

Helping Hands will be on site Friday, April 13, to pick up usable items, including furniture and clothes. There will also be a Hazardous Waste disposal on site.

Items that will be accepted for disposal include: furniture, stoves, dishwashers, bicycles, compressed gas cylinders, car batteries, fire extinguishers, washers and dryers, electronic waste, air conditioners and refrigerators (if freon has been removed by certified technician), compressors (accepted as separate items), fluorescent bulbs, cleaners (water-based), paints, chemicals, oil, oil filters, tires (four per household), anti-freeze, aerosols, flammable liquids and solids, pesticides, etc.

Items that will not be accepted include: household trash, construction material, anything containingfreon or items too large to fit in the dumpster.

There is a maximum of three trips per household.

Alumni Association BBQ and Pie Auction

The Pea Ridge High School Alumni Association Pie Auction and dinner is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Pea Ridge Middle School, Weston Street.

Dinner includes a barbecue sandwich, baked beans and coleslaw. The pie auction begins at 6 p.m.

This is a fund raiser for the PRHS Alumni Association and will benefit Pea Ridge High School qualifying seniors with scholarship funds.

NEBCO spaghetti feed slated

GARFIELD - The NEBCO Spaghetti Feed is 4 - 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, at NEBCO Community Center, 17823 Marshall St.

(U.S. Hwy. 62), Garfield.

Prices are $7 for adults, $4 children 5 to12 years of age; children under 5 eat free.

Meal includes salad, bread, beverage and all you can eat spaghetti.

All proceeds go to the NEBCO Fire/EMS general fund.
