Marcus Nelson, 25, died Monday morning.
Nelson was in Baptist Health Medical Center, Little Rock, waiting for a heart transplant.
Fundraising efforts have been underway by a local group of residents organized as Friends of Marcus to help pay for a HeartMate heart pump.
Marcus, a 2003 graduate of Pea Ridge High School, was the son of Dennis and Willadean Nelson of Pea Ridge and the grandson of Robert Nelson of Pea Ridge, Bob and Babe DuBois of Bella Vista, Dimple Henson of Bentonville and the late C.J. Henson, former auctioneer of Rogers.
No other information was available at press time.
