GARFIELD — There has been an exciting start at Garfield Elementary this fallwith the new principal, Mr.
Stephen Bowman.
Mr. Bowman went to college at the University of Arkansas where he received his education degree.He was a principal at R.E. Baker Elementary in Bentonville before coming to Garfield. He says that he has always wanted to be a teacher and in education.
His wife Christy works at Reagan Elementary in Rogers. They have three children - Macie Jane, Cooper and Tucker.
When asked what his goal at Garfield was, Mr.
Bowman said he wanted for all the students to reach their highest potential and be successful. Mr. Bowman always says that he wants the students to give 100 percent effort.
He rewards the students’ efforts by giving them a “Fun Friday” every Friday.
They play energetic gameslike Alligators and Life Guards; Rabbits and Foxes and Tug of War. And he is the best “Simeon Says” leader ever.
