Men attack Keen

— An Avoca man claims he was stabbed during a home invasion on Wednesday, Aug. 31, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

At 8:56 p.m., Ronald Keen, 36, of 10513 Lyndon Place, called 911 and told Benton County Central Communication dispatchers that he had been the victim of a home invasion.

Authorities said Keen told dispatchers he heard a knock on the door and when he answered it, he was attacked by three men - two of them holding knives.

During the following altercation, deputies said, Keen told them he received lacerations to the upper part of his body.

Keen was taken by Northest Benton County Fire/EMS ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, deputies said, where he was treated and released.

Authorities said Keen’s wounds were superficial.

Investigators said Keen told them, during a hospital interview, that he believes he broke one of the assailant’s arms during the struggle.

The investigation is continuing, authorities said.

“We’ve got investigators talking to people,” said Capt. Mike Sydoriak, head of the Criminal Investigation Division for the sheriff’s office. “We’re still trying to develop leads on what happened.”

Investigators have gathered evidence at the house, Sydoriak said, and have asked anyone with any information to call Investigator Jeremy Felton at the sheriff’s office at 271-1009.
