SIGN UP FOR ALERT TEXTS

In an effort to better serve the students, parents, staff and community, Pea Ridge School District is partnering with the City of Pea Ridge and Benton County Emergency Services to expand the school alert system, according to Keith Martin, Elementary School principal and safety manager.

The school will be moving to the Benton County Alert System to notify stakeholders of school closings, emergencies and critical events. This will require anyone interested in receiving school alerts to enroll with the Benton County Alert System. This system will enable the school to provide up-to-date information to stakeholders via e-mail, text and/or phone message.

To register for this service, go to www.bcalert.com. Select Pea Ridge Schools within the Benton County Schools menu to receive school alerts.

If unable to register online athome or need assistance, parents may come to their child’s school and register using school computers. Persons interested will need an activee-mail address to begin this process.

The system will be tested at the end of October and placed online Nov. 1, 2011.
