Cornerstone Pharmacy fills niche in Bella Vista

— Flu season is approaching and according to the federal Centers for Disease Control, it is important to be immunized as soon as the vaccine is available to ward off an early outbreak.

Vaccinations are in-stock and administered without an appointment at Cornerstone Pharmacy in Bella Vista. The cost of the vaccination is $25, however for those with traditional Medicare B coverage the flu shot is free, said owner Jim Graham.

Shingles and pneumonia vaccinations also are available, Graham said.

Cornerstone is a compounding pharmacy which allows the preparation of drugs that are no longer on the market, hard to find or in that need to be individualized. For example, the pharmacy provides individualized hormone replacement therapy for both women and men.

“We provide fast, expert service and work to build relationships with our patients,” Graham said.

Cornerstone is an independent retail pharmacy and is highly competitive with larger drugstore chains.

“If you have insurance, your co-pays are identical,” Graham said. “For patients that don’t have insurance we match most items on our competitor’s $4 lists if they ask.”

The pharmacy fills most prescriptions in less than 10 minutes. Items that are hard to find or not in stock can be special ordered and are often received the next business day.

In addition to providing personalized pharmaceutical service, Cornerstone also carries a large selection of gifts, cards and fragrances.

Graham’s wife, Lorri, orders an exceptional line of unique gifts, including a full line of MudPie baby clothes, Thymes Fragrances, Braswells jellies and syrups, Bridgewater candles and Andrews peanut brittle. Custom-arranged silk floral designs also are available.

Cornerstone Pharmacy is located at 2888 Bella Vista Way and is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
