Seligman Chamber won Rib Cook-off

— Although a small crowd attended the 18th annual Northeast Benton County Turkey Shoot and Rib Cook-Off Saturday, those who attended had a great time, said Judy Linstruth, NEBCO administrative assistant.

“We had a great Turkey Shoot even though the crowds were small, Linstruth said.

There were 12 competitors in the Rib Cook-Off: Arvest Bank Pea Ridge, Barnetts Pawn and Bait Shop, City of Gateway, Eureka Pizza, Fast Lane Entertainment, First Baptist Church of Seligman, Flying RF Feed and Farm Supply, Freedom Bank of Southwest Missouri, Oak View Animal Clinic, Ozark Mountain Propane Co ., Peoples’ Community Bank, Seligman Greater Area Chamber of Commerce and Pepsi.

Fast Lane Entertainment provided the game events for the kids. They had Spider Mountain and Gyro Ball.

The Seligman Greater Area Chamber of Commerce and Pepsi Cooks, Bobby Brown and Loretta Burgess, won first place in the Rib Cook-Off. Bill Schnitzer and the city of Gateway won second place and Nathan Keck with Ozark Mountain Propane won third.

First Baptist Church of Seligman and cook, Tim Walters, won Best Sauce and Seligman Greater Area Chamber of Commerce and Pepsi won Best Presentation.

Judges were: John Scott, superintendent Pea Ridge Military Park; Will Hanna, Benton County fire marshall; Robert McGowen, Benton County D.E.M. Coordinator;

Jeremy Bernard, Washburn Fire Department chief; and Jerry Cousin, owner of Shipping Resources.
