Fall Bazaar

A Fall Bazaar and yard sale will be held at the Pea Ridge Free Will Baptist Church from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

on Saturday, Oct. 8. There will be a variety of homemade baked goods including pies, cakes, cookies, brownies and homemade jellies. Christmas ornaments, crochet, knitted, sewing and other unique crafted items will be available. All proceeds will go towards the church building fund.

Fall train ride planned

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The fall train ride from Seligman to Van Buren, Ark., will be Sunday, Oct. 9. Arkansas and Missouri Railroad and Seligman Chamber of Commerce have this trip twice a year. It will be Arts and Crafts days in Van Buren. The train will leave Seligman about 7 a.m. and arrive in Van Buren about 11 a.m. It will return to Seligman, Mo., about 6:30 p.m. Snacks will be served.

Passengers will spend about three hours in Van Buren. Tickets are $80, first class and caboose, $72 for senior 65 and over, $35 for children 12-4, 3 and under is free; $60 for vintage cars, $54 for senior, $35 for children 12-4.

VFW free flu shots

Free flu shots are available to all military veterains from 2 to 4 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 10, in the basement of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian, sponsored by Pea Ridge VFW Post 8109. The shots will be administered by Beth Nail, of the Fayetteville VA Clinic.

Have a military ID or service number available.

D.A.S.H. to Remember

The D.A.S.H. to Remember 5K run/walk is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Ryan Mondy Memorial tee-ball field, on Weston Street. Entry fees are $15 for 1 mile for children 12 and under, $20 for 5K all ages and 1 mile for adults, ifpostmarked by Oct. 15, and $25 for 5K, if postmarked after Oct. 15.

Entry forms are available at Rush Running, Bentonville, or online at www.mondyfamily.com. Early registration participants receive a T-shirt and the first 100 registrations receive a goody bag.

Proceeds benefit the Ryan Mondy D.A.S.H. Memorial Scholarship Endowment, a special scholarship through the Arkansas Community Foundation in Little Rock. The scholarship is designated to assist graduating seniors whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Historical Society field trip set

The Pea Ridge Historical Society will take a field trip to the Pea Ridge National Military Park. Those participating are to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the museum in Pea Ridge and drive to the Pea Ridge National Military Park, to begin the program at 6:30 p.m.

Seligman Lions Club dance

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The Seligman Lions Club dance will be at 7 p.m. Thursday Oct. 6, at the Seligman community building. Band will be Frosty Garland the Road Hogs. Adults $4 each, snacks are optional. No alcohol or smoking allowed.

Gateway annual picnic

GATEWAY - The annual city picnic will befrom 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Gateway city park.

The Honor Guard will have a flag ceremony at 3:45 p.m.

Music will be provided by James McKinney and Southern Express. Lunch, provided by the city, will be hot dogs and hamburgers.

Fundraiser

SELIGMAN, Mo. - A fundraiser for J.R. Raucstadt will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Seligman Community Building, sponsored by the Seligman Chamber and Seligman Lion’s Club. Funds raised will be used to help pay J.R.’s medical bills. For $25 you will get a dinner for two, $15 for one person and $7 for children 12 and under. That includes pork roast with bread dumpling, cucumber potato salad, vegetable, dessert and a drink. There will also be live music from local talents.

Spook Trail

SELIGMAN, Mo. - Seligman Fire Protection Districtis hosting their 14th annual Spook Trail on the weekends of Oct. 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29. Tickets will be sold starting at 8 p.m. and will stop selling at midnight.

The cost is $5 per person, children 5 and under are free. Concessions will be available.

Support the Seligman Fire Department and vote for a favorite scene. No alcohol is allowed on the premises. All proceeds go to the support of the organization. The trail is located on State Line Road, west of Seligman.
