Volunteers wanted for library

Good News! The crew completed work on the roof of the new library and the timing could not have been better. I was worried the rains would arrive before it was finished.

The Library Board is planning another book sale for Saturday, Dec. 3.

We will open at 3 p.m. and remain open for an hour or so after the Christmas parade. Most books will be a quarter so you can’t beat the price. We will be selling the remaining books from our October sale along with some new additions including cookbooks. So drop by and have a cup of hot cider and a cookie and pick up a few books to enjoy on a cold winter day. Volunteers for this sale would be appreciated.

The annual open house will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 15. Drop by anytime for some tasty refreshments and a chance to visit with friends.

A new volunteer will be in training in the library for the next few weeks.

Dottie Adriano is a member of the Library Board of Trustees and will be filling in for me on Tuesday, Dec. 6, while I attend my grandson’s music program in Oklahoma. I hope to be able to train several volunteers before we move into our new location. If interested in becoming a volunteer, call 451-8442.

Most of this past week was spent processing new and/or donated books.

Many new books are now ready for checkout.

You can always add your name to the waiting list for a new book. We have a growing number of paperbacks by popular authors so if you don’t find a book you are seeking in hardback, try the paperback section. Our large print selection is growing. Large print books are very expensive, $30 and up for the more popular authors. However, I have been able to find some good ones.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have many things to be thankful for this year. I know I do. Family, friends, good health and a job that allows me to interact with so many good people.
