Weather data adds to school studies

— A weather station will be located at the high school with a camera installed on top of the gym.

Thanks to a camera donated by KNWA and the School Boardauthorizing $7,730 for purchase of a WeatherBug Achieve package, students at the schools will benefit, according to Mark Laster, teacher.

“There is no better interdisciplinary tool than the weather,” Laster told the board.

Dr. Roland Smith, interim superintendent, told the board he saw value in the system for at least three reasons.

First, as an educational resource for students; secondly as an auxiliary weather forecast for Pea Ridge and thirdly, additional positive mention of Pea Ridge in the region.
