Notes From the Nurse

Some tips for the final days of schools

— By the time you read this, we will have nine days left in school. We have been through the majority of field trips and Spring Fling with only a few major sunburns and first aid incidents. Please sunscreen your children during these last days of trips and playtime, and make sure they are well hydrated. Some grades are getting extra recess time and will be outside more than usual.

Allergies are flaring and we need to remember inhalers, and any medication that needs to be routine during this time, to make the students more comfortable in their environment.

We still have learning time and need to make the most of it!

Also dress your children comfortably, but do not forget the dress codes we have school wide, regarding shirts, shorts and shoes. We don’t have extra shoes for those broken flip flops in middle school and high school. Students need topack extra in their backpacks. We do not allow flip flops in grades K-2. We prefer not in grades 3-5 with recess, P.E. and injuries that happen while running in them (sprains, strains, and bleeding toenails). Our play areas are not flat at the Intermediate School.

Take time these last few days to go through your child’s closet or coat closet and ask where your child’s jacket, hoodie or sweater has gone. It’s probably in our lost and found! The last day of school everything goes away that the nurses can’t use in school.

We take everything in for donations at various places.

Let’s make these last few days of school the best, the safest and very memorable.
