Garfield Elementary travels to Arvest Ball Park

— Hey, Folks! I haven’t been writing in awhile, but I have some news to shareabout our school, Garfield Elementary.

On May 4, our entire school, wearing our gold GarfieldT-shirts, traveled on a field trip to the Arvest Ball Park to watch the Naturals play!

It was so much fun! The team mascot handed out squishy baseballs. Not everyone got one, but some of us did! There was delicious smelling food, but we didn’t get to buy any because we brought our own sack lunches. We ate in our seats while we watched the game!

The whole stadium sang the song, “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” The Garfield students knew the song because our music teacher, Mrs. Morgan, already taught it to us. The best part about our trip was that most of our kids at Garfield have never taken such anadventurous trip before, including me! It was my first ever baseball game! If you ask me, I would definitely advise you to go the Arvest Ball Park for some great outdoor fun!

On May 19, the thirdgrade class from Garfield Elementary joined all of the other third-grade classes in the Rogers School District at Heritage High School for a Sing-A-Long.

Some of the songs we sang were: Zippidy-Do-Da;

America, I’ve Been Working on the Railroad, Take Me Out to the Ballgame and many others. It was amazing hearing all of our voices blending together!

We were also entertained by a Barbershop Quartet.

Quarter means four in case you didn’t know that! They were great singers! I really liked the base singer, he had a deep voice! It was such a great experience for all of us!
