NEBCO country breakfast

NEBCO Fire and EMS will hold a Memorial Day “country breakfast” fundraiser from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday, May 30 at the NEBCO Community Center in Garfield. A complete breakfast including sausage, bacon, ham, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, biscuits and gravy and drink is just $7 for adults, $4 for kids 5-12 and free for kids under 5. All proceeds go to NEBCO Emergency Medical Services ALS ambulance service.

Book drive

Beta Alpha of ESA International is in need of books for Easter Seals of Arkansas’ new library. They are requesting picture books, National Geographic, second- through fifth-grade level readers, beginning readers, magazines and audio books.

Donations will be accepted Friday, May 20, at Pea Ridge High School Baccalaureate and July 6-9 during the Pea Ridge Fair.

AREA EVENTS

County Hall meeting slated

LOST BRIDGE - A Benton County Hall meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Lost Bridge Village Community Center in Garfield. All residents living in the surrounding towns are invited.

The county judge, assessor, collector, sheriff and county clerk will give an overview of their elected offices and answers questions.

District 1 Justice of the Peace Dale King and District 2 Justice of the Peace Frank Winscott are scheduled to attend. In addition, the judge’s staff members will be available to answer questions including county road issues, emergency services, reverse 911 capabilities and veteran services.

This is the second in a series of meetings the county judge plans to hold in Benton County. The next meeting will be held in Bella Vista.

Cemetery annual meeting

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The annual meeting and picnic of the Seligman New Salem Cemetery Association is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28. The annual business meeting will be held at the New Salem School House, located northeast of the town of Seligman.

A pot-luck picnic lunch will be held at noon on the grounds following the meeting. Everyone is invited to attend both the meeting and the lunch. Come to see the exciting progress that has been made by the new Baptist Church congregation that is meeting in the New Salem School House. Quilt Show

BUNKER HILL, Mo.
