AFS-USA Study Abroad Scholarships

AFS-USA is proud to announce it is offering scholarships to study abroad in 2011 to high school students who live in Arkansas. Scholarships are for yearlong programs only and cover up to $4,000 of program costs.

These scholarships, offered through the AFS Arkansas Global Leaders Financial Aid Program, help make it possible for eligible students to experience what it’s like to live in a country and culture completely different from their own, attend high school, learn or increase skills in a second language, make new friends and broaden their global perspective

Arkansas Community Foundation

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

- Arkansas Community Foundation announced the availability of two privately funded scholarships for Arkansas students. One program provides scholarships tostudents who have battled cancer and another to students whose parent was killed in the line of duty.

The Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship

The Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarshipis available annually for students who have a parent who died in service to their nation, state or community. The awards are funded by income from the Arkansas Service Memorial Fund, an endowment fund created in the mid 80s largely through the fundraising efforts of Sheffield Nelson. Since1984, income from the fund has provided 127 scholarships totaling over $155,000. Applications received by May 1, 2011, will be given priority.
